Hey! Broadband is an independent full-fibre provider serving parts of southeast England, and its plans are more competitive than you’d expect from a smaller operator. This page breaks down everything you need to know about Hey!’s current deals, pricing, contract options, and what’s included. Whether you’re already in their coverage area or just exploring your options among UK broadband providers, we’ll help you figure out if Hey! is the right fit.

About Hey! Broadband

Hey! Broadband was built with a specific mission: bring full-fibre broadband to smaller towns that the big players have been slow to reach. It operates across parts of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex, running its own independent fibre network rather than piggybacking on Openreach.

So what does “full fibre” actually mean? In plain terms, a fibre optic cable runs directly to your property, not just to a green cabinet down the road. You can read more about what full fibre (FTTP) means, but the short version is: faster speeds, lower latency, and a more reliable connection than older copper-based setups.

Because Hey! doesn’t use the Openreach network, its availability is far more limited than BT, Sky, or Vodafone. That’s the trade-off. But where it is available, customer feedback is positive. Hey! holds a Trustpilot rating of 4.0 out of 5 (as of April 2026), which is genuinely strong for an independent ISP.

Hey! Broadband Plans and Prices

Hey! keeps things simple with three speed tiers. All of them offer symmetrical upload and download speeds, and that’s a real standout feature. Most providers give you a fraction of your download speed on uploads, but with Hey!, what you download is what you upload. That matters a lot if you work from home, video call regularly, or upload large files.

Here’s how the current deals stack up (prices as of April 2026):

Plan Download Speed Upload Speed Monthly Cost Contract Setup Fee
Superfast 150 150 Mbps 150 Mbps £23.00/mo 24 months Free
Megafast 400 400 Mbps 400 Mbps £26.00/mo 24 months Free
Gigafast 900 900 Mbps 900 Mbps £28.00/mo 24 months Free

All three plans currently come with a £100 bill credit when you switch using One Touch Switch, plus a free router and standard installation.

Superfast 150

At £23 per month, this is Hey!’s entry-level plan, and honestly, 150 Mbps is more than enough for most households. Streaming, browsing, working from home on video calls. A household of two to four people will handle all of that comfortably. For a full-fibre connection at this price, it’s genuinely hard to beat.

Megafast 400

At £26 per month, this is the sweet spot for bigger households or anyone who regularly streams in 4K across multiple screens. The symmetrical 400 Mbps upload speed is where this plan really shines. Most cable and FTTC connections can’t get close to that on uploads.

Gigafast 900

The top-tier plan at £28 per month delivers near-gigabit speeds. It’s aimed at power users, busy home offices, or households where everyone is online at the same time. Advertised speeds reflect what at least 50% of users receive at peak times, per Ofcom rules. The Gigafast plan also includes a free 12-month subscription to Norton 360 Deluxe.

What’s Included in Every Hey! Broadband Package?

  • Free Wi-Fi router included with every plan
  • Free standard installation with no activation or engineer fees
  • Unlimited data on all plans, with no caps or throttling
  • Free number porting if you want to keep your existing phone number
  • No landline required as the connection is 100% fibre
  • Optional VoIP home phone is available for around £9.50 per month if you want one

Contracts, Pricing, and the Annual Price Rise Policy

Hey! offers 24-month contracts (the cheapest option), 12-month broadband deals (typically £2 to £3 more per month), and a rolling no-contract option at a further premium. There’s no setup fee regardless of which you choose.

Hey! currently applies no mid-contract price rises on its standard plans which is a genuine advantage over many larger ISPs who apply annual increases. Always compare the total cost of the contract rather than looking at just the monthly headline price. On paper, the monthly headline price may appear cheaper than Hey!, but over the course of a 24-month contract Hey Broadband could be cheaper option!

Is Hey! Broadband Available in My Area?

This is the big question. Hey! only serves specific towns in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, and West Sussex. You can’t just sign up nationwide like you can with BT or Sky. Before you spend time comparing plans, check availability at your postcode first.

If you’re on a low income, Hey! also offers a social tariff called “Everyday Fibre”, providing 100 Mbps for £16 per month on a 12-month contract. It’s available to households receiving Universal Credit or other qualifying benefits. You can find out more about eligibility on our broadband social tariffs page.

How Does Hey! Broadband Compare to Other Providers?

Hey!’s Gigafast 900 at £28 per month sits well alongside Virgin Media’s 1.1 Gbps plan (from around £25 per month). Virgin is cheaper on paper, but it uses shared coaxial cable rather than dedicated fibre to your home. For some people, the lower price wins. If you need strong upload speeds though (and more people do than realise), Hey!’s full-fibre connection is the better deal.

Then there’s BT. Its Fibre 2 starts at around £26 per month but tops out at roughly 80 Mbps, and uploads are a fraction of downloads. If you’re in Hey!’s coverage area, the comparison falls quite clearly in Hey!’s favour on both speed and technology.

If Hey! isn’t available at your address, none of this applies. In that case, you’re better off using our tool to compare all broadband deals in your area.

“Hey! Broadband is one of the more interesting independent providers to emerge from the UK’s full-fibre rollout. Its pricing is genuinely competitive for FTTP, and the fact that all speeds are symmetrical sets it apart from most cable and FTTC alternatives. The main consideration is coverage: if Hey! is available at your address, it deserves serious consideration.”
